Winter sports

In winter, the area surrounding our Schneeberg chairlift is transformed into a paradise for those seeking fresh air and plenty of exercise.

With the four-seater chairlift, you can conveniently travel up to the top of the Fadensattel pass at an elevation of 1210 metres above sea level. This is the ideal starting point for impressive winter hiking tours on the highest peak in Lower Austria and for downhill runs for fans of snow in open terrain.

Assuming snow conditions are appropriate, there are two ski routes available to skiers and snowboarders. While carving through unspoilt snow, you can enjoy the splendid panorama of the wintry peaks surrounding you.

PLEASE NOTE: The ski route is not open outside the operating hours of the Schneeberg chairlift and is therefore open land. This means avalanche safety is not monitored during these hours.

And those who prefer ski tours and snowshoe hikes will also find what their hearts desire in the Losenheim winter paradise.

Discover the delectable traditional fare served in the cosy Edelweißhütte and Almreserlhaus mountain chalets.

You can hire all the winter sport equipment you need on site ‒ skis, snowboards, helmets, poles and snowshoes ‒ from Puchi's ski hire outlet at very reasonable prices.

Anyone looking to reach the next level of winter sport skill can be readily advised to visit one of the courses at Peter Groß' Schneeberg ski and mountaineering school.
